Who we are

This website is operated by Ryan Miller, a licensed Michigan insurance agent affiliated with Michigan Farm Bureau Insurance. Throughout this policy, "we," "us," and "our" refer to Ryan Miller in his capacity as that agent.

Michigan Farm Bureau Insurance and its underwriting companies are separate legal entities that handle policy issuance, claims, and underwriting decisions. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, which you can request from them directly.

What information we collect

Information you give us through forms

When you fill out a form on this site, we collect:

• Name (first, last)
• Email address
• Phone number (when provided)
• Location / city / household details (when provided)
• Details about your current insurance situation — coverage types, carriers, rates — when you submit a Coverage Review
• Anything else you choose to share in free-text fields ("tell us about your situation," "what you're hoping to get out of this," etc.)

Information collected automatically

Like nearly every modern website, we collect a limited set of information automatically when you visit:

• IP address (used by Cloudflare for security + analytics)
• Browser type, device type, and screen size
• Pages visited and time spent
• Referring URL (where you arrived from)
• Approximate geographic region (derived from IP — not your exact location)

The services we use

This site is built on top of third-party services, and any information you submit may be processed by those services on our behalf. The current list:

• Cloudflare — hosting, content delivery, bot protection (Turnstile), and edge analytics. Cloudflare processes your IP address and traffic patterns to keep the site fast and block automated abuse.
• Resend — delivery of form submissions to our inbox + delivery of confirmation emails back to you. If you submit a form, your email address is added to the corresponding audience list in Resend so we can follow up. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
• Google Analytics 4 + Google Tag Manager — aggregated traffic measurement: which pages are popular, what paths visitors take, what devices they use. Google may set cookies on your browser to support this measurement. Google's own privacy policy applies to data they collect.

We may add additional services over time — for example, a future scheduling tool, a CRM, or a survey tool. When we do, the principles above still apply: the service has to process the data on our behalf, and we will not sell it to anyone.

How we use your information

• To respond to questions and inquiries you initiate by submitting a form, calling, or emailing
• To prepare quotes, coverage reviews, and consultations you request
• To send relevant follow-ups, reminders, and occasional insurance guidance — only to people who have actively submitted a form
• To improve the website: which content is useful, what's confusing, what isn't working
• To comply with legal requirements, prevent fraud, and respond to lawful requests from authorities

We do not sell your information to advertisers or data brokers, and we do not share it with other insurance agencies.

Cookies and tracking technologies

This site uses cookies primarily for analytics (via Google Analytics 4 / Google Tag Manager) and for the bot-check on form submissions (Cloudflare Turnstile). We do not use cookies for third-party advertising or retargeting.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Most of the site will still work without them; some forms may behave differently.

How long we keep your information

Form submissions and the resulting emails are retained as long as the relationship is active or for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry. If you ask to be removed from our records, we will do so within a reasonable timeframe except where retention is required by law (for example, records related to a policy that has been issued).

Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' default settings.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe from any list at any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send.
• Request a copy of what we have on file by emailing us.
• Request deletion of your information by emailing us. We will confirm in writing once removed.
• Opt out of analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by enabling "Do Not Track" / a tracker-blocking extension.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Communication with this site is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Form submissions are delivered over TLS to Resend and to our email inbox. While no system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, we use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect what you share with us.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the website evolves or as the services we use change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Significant changes will be summarized at the top of the page for at least 30 days.
